Yesterday evening I just walked through the horses. Had to stop and do some serious petting and rubbing. Noticed my young bay yearling filly, Dotty, must have stuck her nose in someone else business or at least where it shouldn't have been.
I worked with Sweetie again this morning. She is just a real jewel to work with. Do need to work on her backing and to a certain degree catching and haltering her. Nothing serious but does need some fine tuning.
Julie is leading much better but was playing Miss Independent today. Didn't want to be caught right off and wanted to throw her head when I was haltering her. That all needs to be worked on. She also didn't want to back up this morning but she is starting to lead by and yeild to the rope pressure. She is going to make a great riding horse.
Brought in another 2 yr old filly, HB. HB is a gray filly out of my big gray mare Lady. She hasn't been handled and really didn't care if she ever was handled by a human. She was perfectly content with her life as it was. LOL We worked in the round pen until she was comfortable with me putting my hands on her and rubbing and popping her. She did well for her first session. Another session of two and she should be read to start leading around. She is a stout girl with a huge hip. I like her a lot.
